Ingredients
For the Crust
- 1¼ cups Flour
- ½ cup Butter diced into cubes
- 1 Egg Yolk
- 2 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tbsp Cold Water
- ½ tsp Vanilla Extract
For the Filling
- 10 oz Pumpkin Puree
- 1½ cup Heavy Cream
- ½ cup Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 Zest of Lemon
- ½ tsp Ground Nutmeg
- ½ tsp Ground Cloves
- 2 tsp Cinnamon
- 4 ml Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil ≈ 12.5 mg CBD per Slice of Pie
Instructions
The Crust
- In a large bowl add the flour, sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
- Beat in the butter.
- Add the cold water, mix until dough forms.
- Transfer the dough into a parchment paper and place it in the fridge to chill for 20 minutes.
The Filling
- First, begin preheating your oven to 350° F or 180° C. This way it'll be ready by the time you make the filling and craft the rest of the CBD apple pie.
- In a large bowl, add the pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, zest of lemon, sugar, eggs, and Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil by dispensing it out of the dropper a little at a time all over the ingredients to disperse the CBD. Beat and mix thoroughly.Important: Mix thoroughly at this step for a few extra minutes to ensure the Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil is dispersed throughout the mixture. This will ensure each slice of CBD pumpkin pie has a more even dosage of CBD.
- Whisk in the heavy cream into the mixture.
Build the Pie
- Grab the dough out and roll it out into a ½ inch thick pie crust and place it in a pie pan.
- Place all the CBD pumpkin filling in the pie shell and bake the pie in already preheated oven for about 45 minutes, or until slightly giggling in the center of the pie.
- Let the pie cool completely and cut pieces.
- Decorate the cake with whipped cream.
