How to Make CBD Chocolate Cream Pie

Step 1:

Preheat oven to 400° F.

Step 2: 

In a large bowl add the flour, salt, sugar, vanilla extract, egg yolk, and diced butter. Rub the butter into the flour mixture until it appears a sandy consistency.

Step 3: 

Then, add the ice water to the mixture and start forming the dough. Let the dough chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Step 4:

On a flour dusted countertop, roll out the dough into 1/2″ thickness and form it into the pie pan. Poke the pie crust with a fork and place it in the freezer for 15 minutes.

Step 5:

Bake the pie in the oven for about 15 minutes or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.

Step 6:

In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the milk to an almost boiling point.
Step 7:
In a separate bowl, stir together the instant chocolate pudding powder, a little bit of the milk, sugar, vanilla extract, instant coffee together. Mix until well combined.
Step 8:
Add this chocolate mixture to the saucepan with the milk in it. Whisk it together, then add the butter and whisk that together until it is melted and everything is well combined. Remove from heat. Then, add Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil. Stir well.
Step 9:
Cover this mixture with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator.
Step 10:
Whip the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar together.
Step 11:
When the chocolate pudding mixture is completely cooled, mix it with the whipped cream mixture and stir together until well combined.
Step 12:
Pour the mixture into the cooled pie crust.
Step 13:
For the pie topping, whip the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Spread it on top of the chocolate pie. Decorate with the shaved chocolate.
Step 14:
Let this cool in the refrigerator for 4 hours.

Ingredients

Crust

  • cups Flour
  • 2 tbsp Sugar
  • ½ cup Butter cold & diced

  • 3 tbsp Ice Water

Pie Filling

  • 1 package Instant Chocolate Pudding
  • 5 tbsp Sugar
  • 1 tsp Instant Coffee
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 cups Whole Milk
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 3 tbsp Powdered Sugar
  • 4 ml Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil ≈ 12.5 mg CBD per Slice of Pie

Topping

  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 3 tbsp Powdered Sugar
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 oz Dark Chocolate shaved

  • Add this chocolate mixture to the saucepan with the milk in it. Whisk it together, then add the butter and whisk that together until it is melted and everything is well combined. Remove from heat. Then, add Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil. Stir well.
    Important: Mix thoroughly at this step for a few extra minutes to ensure the Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil is dispersed throughout the mixture. This will ensure each slice of CBD pie has a more even dosage of CBD.
  • Cover this mixture with plastic wrap and put it in the refrigerator.
  • Whip the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar together.
  • When the chocolate pudding mixture is completely cooled, mix it with the whipped cream mixture and stir together until well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the cooled pie crust.

Topping

  • Whip the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined. Spread it on top of the chocolate pie. Decorate with the shaved chocolate.
  • Let this cool in the refrigerator for 4 hours.
