Simple CBD Banoffee Pie Recipe
Equipment
- Measuring cups
- Saucepan
- Tart Pan
Ingredients
For the Crust
- 1½ cups Graham Crackers
- 4 tbsp Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 8 tbsp Butter melted
- 3 tbsp Cocoa Powder
For the Pie Filling
- 4 tbsp Cocoa Powder
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- ½ cup Sugar
- 2 Bananas diced
- 1½ cups Heavy Whipping Cream
- 1 pinch Salt
- ¼ cup Cornstarch
- 4 ml Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil ≈ 12.5 mg CBD per Slice of Pie
For Decoration
- 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
- 3 tbsp Powdered Sugar
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- Chopped Toffee for decoration
Instructions
The Crust
- In a large bowl, add the graham crackers, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and melted butter.
- Mix everything together until combined and transfer the mixture into a tart pan, forming it to the pan.
- Let it chill and set in the freezer while you prepare the pie filling.
The Filling
- In a bowl, add the cornstarch, cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract. Add 5 tablespoons of milk and mix until fully combined.
- Add the rest of the milk in a saucepan and bring to an almost boil.
- In the same saucepan add the chocolate mixture and stir with a whisk until it becomes a thick pudding like consistency. Cover the filling with plastic wrap to avoid any film forming on top. Let it chill completely.
- When the filling is completely chilled, mix the heavy whipping cream into the mixture with a hand mixer, and add Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil. Stir until combined and fully incorporated.Important: Mix thoroughly at this step for a few extra minutes to ensure the Simply Add CBD™ Baking Oil is dispersed throughout the mixture. This will ensure each slice of CBD pie has an even dosage of CBD.
- Pour the filling into the chilled pie crust and smooth it out with a spatula. Let chill in the refrigerator for one hour.
- Cut up the bananas and place on the pie. Whip the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla into soft peaks and smooth on top of the pie.
- Decorate the top of the banoffee pie with chopped toffee.
