Simple CBD Cleansing Balm Recipe
The oil cleansing method is becoming increasingly popular these days. We were always taught as children to wash our face with harsh soap cleansers. I’m pretty sure we were all guilty of this.
These face cleansers would scrape down the natural oils on your face, so you would be “shine free.” But this would only last so long, until your skin would then be overproducing oil in your face to compensate the cleanser you put on earlier. It’s a vicious cycle. In this CBD cleansing balm recipe, I’ll show you how to make a cleansing balm that actually cleans your face and leaves it feeling nourished. What’s in This CBD Cleansing Balm?
Candelilla Wax – You may use beeswax in replace of candelilla wax if you have it. This helps the balm to stay together.
Shea Butter – Shea butter clocks in at 0 on the comedogenic scale, which means it will never clog your pores. It only helps cleansing, which is why we included this butter in this recipe.
Coconut Oil – Now, coconut oil is the hottest oil to talk about. Some people swear by it while for some, it doesn’t help one bit. If you are a coconut oil fanatic, keep it in this recipe. If not, substitute it for argan oil!
Sweet Almond Oil – We used sweet almond oil in this recipe since it is mostly non-comedogenic and is great for individuals with dry skin, oily skin, and sensitive skin.
CBD Oil with Hempseed Oil – Hempseed oil is also non-comedogenic and that’s why we picked it for our skincare carrier oil.

Equipment
- Microwave, Double Boiler, or Small Crock Pot
- Spoon
- Small Kitchen Scale
- 2 Ounce Storage Jar
Ingredients
- 1.5 oz Shea Butter
- .2 oz Candelilla Wax
- .4 oz Coconut Oil
- .4 oz Sweet Almond Oil
- 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
- 5 drops Peppermint Essential Oil
- 5 drops Orange Essential Oil
- 10 mL Simply Add CBD™ Skincare Oil ≈ 250 mg CBD
Instructions
How to Make
- Melt down candelilla wax, shea butter, & coconut oil either in a microwave, double boiler, or a small crock pot. Stir
- Mix in the olive oil and stir to combine.
- Remove from heat and add CBD oil and essential oils.
How to Apply
- Get your face wet and using a spoon or clean fingers, grab a small amount of the jars and rub into your face in an upward and outward circular motion.
- Apply some toner after or go right to hydrating your skin with this face cream.
